Mom and son in drugs bust
A mother-and-son pair were busted with $15,000 worth of marijuana en route to Bermuda earlier this week.
The duo was arrested at Charlotte Douglas International airport after plastic packages of marijuana were discovered in the bottom lining of their luggage. They never made it past airport security on Sunday. Transportation Security Administration officials noticed the bulky packages on the X-Ray machine. The pair now faces numerous drug-trafficking charges, reports WCNC television station.
Karen Sullivan, 42, and Korey Braley, 25, were both headed to Bermuda, according to that media outlet, which confirmed that the pair were American.
Another Charlotte television station, WSOC, reports the bust yielded about 24 pounds of marijuana.
