Snooker: Moniz win sets up Bremar clash
Tyler Moniz and Steven Bremar will go head to head in the Bermuda Open Championship finals.
Moniz defeated Maurice Hawkins 3-2 in the first semi-final match that was played on Saturday night at the Spanish Point Boat Club.
All five games went down to the black ball, making it a nail-biting night.
Bermuda Open defending champion Steven Bremar defeated Keith Smith in the second semi that was also played Saturday night, this time at the Warwick Workman’s Club. Bremar won the first two games 50-21 and 62-28.
However, Smith came back to win the third game 54-26. Bremar secured his spot in the finals by winning the fourth game 61-17.
In the Bermuda Open doubles finals, partners Steven Bremar and Zane DeSilva will be vying for the title when they take on Keith Smith & Daniel Caines.
Bremar/DeSilva defeated Ed Gumbs & Chris Dakin to advance to the finals.
Bremar also secured the highest break of the season with a 33. Smith/Caines defeated Aaron Bean & Keino Zuill to secure their place in the finals.
Both the singles and doubles finals will be played on Saturday, April 12 at Spanish Point Boat Club.
The doubles match will get under way at 1pm and the singles will be played at 4pm. All are welcomed to come out and support the players.
