For those of you suffering aches and pains as you begin your training for the May 24 Half-Marathon, there is a new ‘muscle doctor’ at hand.
Greg Ozarowski’s Sports & Remedial Massage Clinic on Bermudiana Road is registered with the Bermuda Massage Therapy Association, which means you can claim treatment on your insurance.
As well as Ozarowski, the clinic boasts the experienced healing hands of his business partner Megan Rumbelow, 33, and Imani Chapman, 32.
Both Bermudians bring a wealth of knowledge to the table after lengthy stints working in the field in the US — Rumbelow in New Jersey and New York City, and Chapman in Washington and California, where she ran her own business.
Rumbelow told the Bermuda Sun: “This is about educating clients on their bodies and the need for massages more than just for relaxation. It’s goal-orientated for sports players and athletes.”
The sports aspect of the clinic is concerned with muscle pain and preventing injuries and muscle fatigue. It also focuses on improving performance and aiding recuperation after injury.
Chapman explained: “It is more sports related. People always have injuries so they don’t always know it’s sports related or work related, they just think ‘I slept wrong’ — and it’s not always about that. They are wearing out their body and they really need to correct it, like when they go to a doctor — but we are muscle doctors!”
She added: “Some people just want a massage that is a level above spa massages.
“They want to walk away relaxed and better than they came in and it lasts longer than a day.”
