Pedro pleads guilty to manslaughter of Steven Iris
A Pembroke man today denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Tyrone Pedro, 23 appeared in Supreme Court this morning where his murder trial was due to start.
As the charges were put to him, Pedro pleaded not guilty to unlawfully killing Steven Iris on August 23.
He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Crown counsel Cindy Clarke said the plea was acceptable.
No details of the case were given in court.
Pedro was remanded into custody and Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves ordered pre sentencing reports.
He will reappear at the May arraignment session for a sentencing date to be fixed.
Pedro was represented by Larry Mussenden.
