Be good toward yourself and others

Be good toward yourself and others
Be good toward yourself and others

The story of Joseph is bathed with testimony of the power of forgiveness.

Wow, what an example Joseph leaves for us as he speaks loudly of the benefits of forgetting the bitter deeds of others and being a better seed to others.

That’s it! In order for you to move from a place of unforgiveness, you must embrace the totality of walking towards the good future that God has for you.

Imagine the drain of walking around carrying the weight of the bad actions of others.

How sad it is when you allow the negative actions of other to be a recurring bad deed in your life. No, it is best to let the negative go.

When you realize that God is GOOD and therefore you are also good because you are created in His image, then you will understand that being your best self is being good and doing good towards others.

It will not matter what the situation is, you will do good because you were created that way.

In his youth, Joseph had good dreams. His dreams were from God.

His dreams saw him helping his family.

His dreams saw him saving his brothers from death. His good dreams were followed by horrible deeds.

Yes, his brothers did not receive his good. As a matter of fact, Joseph’s brothers hated him for his dreams!

What if Joseph had never dreamed? What if Joseph never truly believed in the dreams and therefore never shared them with his family? What if Joseph became angry and decided to no longer hold on to his dreams? What if Joseph had gotten mad at God because he could not see his dreams coming true?

Grateful

We should be grateful that Joseph believed in his dreams and allowed his dreams to:

1. Encourage him when his brothers discouraged him.

2. Pick up his spirit when he was placed in that pit.

3. Provide solace to him when he was sold into slavery.

4. Be his companion in Potiphar’s house.

5. Lift up his countenance when he was sentenced to prison.

Wherever Joseph found himself, his dreams remained with him and drove him to the destiny that God had already spoken over his life.

Genesis 45:1-5 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.

And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.

And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.

Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

On that day, hateful brothers were glad that Joseph did not hate.

On that day, those brothers were grateful that their desire to see Joseph dead had not come to fruition.

Preserved

God had preserved Joseph so that he could serve life to his brothers.

Joseph remained good and he was able to work out his dream and do good for his brothers.

Understand today, that all the negative you experience is designed to hinder you from doing all that you said you would do.

In order to be an overcomer and more than a conqueror, you must not forget who you are.

Be one who forgives and forge a pathway of greatness for yourself.

Forgive and then you can give to others that which is the best of who you are.

Forgive and truly live life as never before. RESPICE FINEM.
