AXIS flies in to save Big Bird!

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Economic Development, are pleased to announce that the award winning educational programming series, Sesame Street, will continue to air on Bermuda Broadcasting channels ZBM TV 9 / ZFB TV 7.

AXIS Capital has assumed primary sponsorship from the Ministry of Education and Economic Development, for the 2014/15 fiscal year ending on March 31^st, 2015.

“Sesame Street has enhanced the early childhood development of children worldwide for decades through its innovative and creative programming,” said AXIS CEO Albert Benchimol.  “AXIS is honoured to support Bermuda’s youth and education as a primary sponsor for the continued broadcast of this iconic program,” he added.

Minister of Education and Economic Development, Dr. The Hon. Grant Gibbons, JP, MP said, “Sesame Street is internationally recognized as one of the world's most highly regarded educational television series for young children.  The benefits of Sesame Street transcend generations, as parents and grandparents who grew up watching, can now share the Sesame Street experience with their children and grandchildren.  On behalf of parents and the Ministry of Education and Economic Development, I am extremely grateful to our community partner, Axis Capital, for generously offering to provide funding to keep this invaluable educational resource on air for our pre-schoolers and young children.”
