Bermuda Snooker Association sent a team of three to the International Snooker League Tournament in Toronto, Canada.
Steven Bremar, Aaron Bean and Maurice Hawkins placed sixth out of eight teams at the event.
Bean, who has become one of the most improved players since joining the local circuit, reached the finals of the Don Thomas category.
The Don Thomas is a one-game shootout format and, unfortunately, he was defeated by Tom Greenan.
Bermuda Open Champion Steven Bremar secured his place in the finals of the Singles Handicap Division.
Bremar would have his work cut out for him as he had to spot his opponent Rick Duncan 63 points to start each game. Bremar went on to defeat Duncan 2-1. Bremar also claimed the “A” Division title and trophy by winning 5 of 7 games throughout the duration of the seven-day tournament. This is the second time in three years that Bremar has put Bermuda on the map by claiming victory in both of these catagories.
Mike Cooper, of Canada, won the “B” Division and Jamie Brunn, of New York, won the “C” Division. The overall team winners representing New York were Ahmed El Sayid, Isa Ismaili and Jamie Brunn.
Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to our sponsors Goslings Limited, Miller and Island Construction Services for their continued support.
