Callon Burns will represent Bermuda at the North American Flyboarding Championships today — and he’s urged everyone on the island to give the sport a go.
Coconut Rockets have been offering flyboarding lessons since the spring of last year.
Based out of Somerset Village, founder Michael Swan is trying to capitalize on the new sport’s growth and markets the unique experience not only to tourists but to locals as well. “It probably sounds a bit cliché but the sensation feels like you’re literally flying, so to speak,” Rockets pilot and instructor Burns told the Bermuda Sun.
“There’s no other experience that’s close to it. You haven’t done it until you’ve done it, there’s just nothing else like it.
“Initially, there’s just a powerful feeling, and then you’re flying and anything you wrap your imagination around you can pretty much do.”
He added: “It’s killer for excitement and entertainment.
“You get tourists coming down here on vacation and it’s killer to have something like that as an attraction.
