Why fathers need to get themselves to Mount Moriah

Why would God ask What a time to live in? Our current society is so out of order that even when we look at places where order should be, you are apt to find disorder –– for example, churches, school, homes, the House of Assembly. There is massive disorder trying to bring about order in the land. That cannot work.

Until fathers take order to its highest potential, then the call for order will continuously be mocked and mishandled. 

Until fathers are themselves following the order of God, then it leaves a loophole or a breach through which the standards of order will escape and disorder will seep in and bring about massive destruction.

In our text, Abraham was called to do something that would appear out of order to the natural eye. He was called to offer up his son as a sacrifice. Why would God even ask such a thing of Abraham? God was trying or testing the heart of Abraham. God had a massive future of generational blessings for Abraham and his seed, and the unfolding of this greatness required a greater level of obedience and faith, than ever before. 

For sure, if you desire something that you have never had before, you will have to do something that you have never done before.

Genesis 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

1. “Take now thy son”— It ought not to be a choice of his. He needs to be taken to God’s presence.

2. “Whom thou lovest”— If you love him, you will take him to God. 

3. “Get thee”— Make sure that you take him all the way to where God is. 

4. “Offer him”

The role and place of fathers in our society is so important that the Devil continues to do all he can to separate fathers and children. 

Hence, there is so much drama in relationships today.

Father Abraham shows how to be in relationship with your seed. Abraham will ultimately teach a life-lesson to his son, Isaac.

Imagine that three-day journey as they made their way up the mountain. 

I am sure that Abraham used that time to establish the greatness of God and tell his son how God always supplied their need.

7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

What a lesson for a father to teach his son. This son understood that his father was in relationship with God and that the faith of his father would result in God providing what they needed.

Today, many earthly fathers are not in relationship with their Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ and therefore they have no sage words of life to speak to their son. 

Sadly, many fathers do not train sons in the way that they should go. Hence, many sons go astray and have no pathway to follow in order to return to God.

Fathers must return to God so that their children can return to God.

Mount Moriah is a place of worship unto God. It is a high place of pure sacrifice. How many sons have missed the experience of Mount Moriah because their father has never been there himself? 

Fathers, before you can take your son to Mount Moriah (the presence of God), you “must needs” get there yourself. 

It is time to restore order everywhere and the only way this can be done is when fathers experience restoration to God, through the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
