In a new series, every week the Bermuda Sun will bring you a player profile from the Bermuda Under-17 boys’ side, who represent the next generation of the island’s cricket hopes. First up is Cameron Jeffers...
Age: 13
Style: Right-hand bat; right-arm leg spin.
Nickname: Bubz or Bubbles
Club: Warwick Workmen’s Club
School: Saltus GS
Best bowling: 3 wickets for seven runs off three overs in an under-15 match against Canadian school Trinity College.
Best batting: 52 (out of 92 total) against Somerset CC Under-14s.
Ambitions (cricket): My greatest ambition is to play Test cricket. Other ambitions include playing English county cricket, IPL, Big Bash and maybe Caribbean Premier League.
Ambitions (life): My back-up plan is to focus on my studies in order to go on to study sports medicine with a view to being a physiotherapist.
Local hero: PlayerJoshua Gilbert. He is always willing to give some of his time to talk with me and is also a good source of knowledge.
International hero: Shane Warne, who is a genius with a good work ethic. He revived the art of leg spin and is one of the main reasons I bowl leg breaks.
The Bermuda Sun bids farewell...
