Somerset Cricket Club is beginning preparation of its defense of Cup Match on Tuesday, June 17. That will be the first training session and all interested players who would like to be on their team are encouraged toattend.
Training will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday until Cup Match.
Last year the match ended in draw as St George’s managed to hang on with the help of some rain.
Somerset put up 370 runs in their first innings and then bowled St George’s out for 191. The Red and Blue put St George’s back in hoping to get a two-for-one victory but Lionel Cann and Rodney Trott held St George’s nerve at the end of the match for the draw.
Last year, Janeiro Tucker became the all-time leading scorer in Cup Match history.
