Dear Sir,
The departure of the Bermuda Sun, which this publication represents, compounds an already serious problem in Bermuda — the need for real balance in a rigidly divided country — a country divided racially, socially, economically, with economic disparity on the rise.
The Bermuda Sun went out of its way to ensure that a balanced view was presented.
As a former guest columnist dating back to the 1980s I know that this practice that we currently have witnessed and appreciated was an integral part of the mantra.
Today, July 30th, which marks their closure, is a sad day for Bermuda. The void being left could not have happened at a worse time.
