Cleveland County ended a 33-year wait to win the Eastern Counties Cup on Saturday when they hammered champions St David’s by 147 runs.
After making 282 for eight declared in their innings, Cleveland seized the initiative.
They had a 76 not out by Jason Anderson on debut to partly thank for the total, while a 84 not out by guest player Dion Stovell was also crucial.
St David’s were never at the races in reply and although guest player Chris Douglas hit a half century, they were all out for 135.
Dennis Nusson, Jr was the pick of the bowlers, taking four for 37.
