Under-20s aim to turn up the heat on Chile
Bermuda’s National Under-20 football team is aiming to finish their National Training Centre Invitational Tournament campaign on a positive note when they take on Chile today.
It will be a chance for redemption for the Bermuda side, who opened the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Australia and suffered a 4-0 defeat to the US on Wednesday.
Bermuda joined the three teams in Carson, California as part of the all-expense-paid
invitational four-team tournament.
They were a late addition due to a last-minute withdrawal from an unknown team.
The US and Australia, both undefeated thus far, will play in the decider on Friday evening to determine the winner.
Chile, who were edged in two close losses thus far — losing 5-4 to Australia and 2-1 to the US — will also be looking for their
first win when they meet
Bermuda this afternoon.
A win in their last match-up would give Don Vickers’ squad a boost to feed off of as they look to prove they can play with some of the top Under-20 players in the world. n
