I have to tell you, I was completely sceptical of the game play of Jenga coming as an app.
For those of you not familiar with the classic game, Jenga is a tower with each level consisting of three blocks of wood.
The object is to remove one block and place it on top without the tower toppling over.
It takes a steady hand and a good eye to make sure you don’t remove the wrong block.
In the app version you can tap or nudge a block out of the tower and then drop it softly on top.
The experience is different. The tactile feel of having the block in your hand or feeling the weight of the tower as you try to gently nudge it away from the stack is missing.
It still allows for the tower to sway, but you certainly don’t have to be too gentle in placing the block on top after successfully removing it away from its brothers.
Oldify 2
If you’ve ever wondered what you might look like 60 years from now, there’s a free app for that. Oldify 2 allows you to either take a photo or snap a new one and age it 20 years to 100 years.
If you don’t mind seeing your saggy jowls, face full of age spots and wrinkles, it’s a fun little app that you and your friends can laugh at.
Timber Man
The hottest free game this week lets you take on the role of a lumberjack cutting down a tree.
You tap either to the right or the left of the tree in an effort to see how many taps you can get in. There are branches on both sides of the tree you have to avoid and if you take too long the tree collapses on you.
