The Fairmont Hamilton Princess today announces the appointment of hospitality veteran Allan C. Federer as general manager of the iconic hotel, effective July 2. In his new role, Mr Federer will oversee the operations of the property, including its 410 rooms, three restaurants and meeting space.
Mr Federer comes to Bermuda from The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow, where he has been general manager of the 334-room hotel since 2012. The hotel is now Russia’s and Ritz-Carlton’s leading hotel operation.
Prior to his tenure in Moscow, Mr Federer was the general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai. He has also been the general manager of several Ritz-Carlton properties in Tucson, Arizona; County Wicklow, Ireland; Singapore; Istanbul; and Montreal. Mr Federer began his hospitality career in 1976 at The Royal York Hotel (now Fairmont Hotels & Resorts) in Toronto, Canada.

Mr Federer says: “I am delighted to be moving to Bermuda to manage The Fairmont Hamilton Princess. In recent months, the hotel has undergone a flurry of activity, with the development of the new 1609 Bar and Restaurant as well as the Samuelsson at HP pop-up restaurant and marina.”
Mr Federer has a Dip. D.E.C. in hotel and restaurant administration from LaSalle College in Montréal, Canada. He also completed the Advanced Management Program and Center for Professional Development at the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in Ithaca, USA.
