In a new series, every week the Bermuda Sun will bring you a player profile from the Bermuda Under-17 boys’ side, who represent the next generation of the island’s cricket hopes.
This week it’s Nzari Paynter...
Age: 15
Style: Right-hand bat; right-arm off-spin; mid-off fielder.
Nickname: Paynta or Baby Neil.
Club: St George’s Cricket Club.
School: Saltus Grammar School
Ambitions (cricket): When I am older I would like to represent Bermuda at the senior level.
I would also like to play Cup Match for St. George’s by the age of 18. Ultimately my goal is to play County cricket in England.
Ambitions (life): I want to attend school in the UK to further my studies, attend university and play cricket. Other than cricket, my goal is to become a physiotherapist.
Local hero: My local hero is my older cousin Orondé Bascome.
International hero: Former England spinner Graeme Swan.
Cricket history: I have played for St. George’s my entire life. I also travelled to the UK with the Under-13 Academy in 2012.
The Bermuda Sun bids farewell...
JUL 30, 2014: It marked the end of an era as our printers and collators produced the very last edition of the Bermuda Sun.
