What's Appening: Seeing the Olympics in a new way

The vast majority of us will never experience the thrill of what it is like to compete in a Winter Olympics.

But there is a new app out that give you a point of view of several Olympians so you can get a small sense of what it is like. 

The Visa 360 Cam app allows users the viewpoint of eight winter athletes: Julia Mancuso (alpine skiing), Roz Groenewoud (freestyle ski halfpipe), Emily Cook (freestyle ski aerials), Mery Davis and Charlie White (ice dancing), Pavel Datsyuk (hockey), Denis Ten (figure skating), and Sarah Hendrickson (ski jumping).

All seven videos come with the athlete’s commentary as they practice their event.

With Julia Mancuso, the view is from a helmet cam as she races down the slope, in-and-out of the gates until she reaches the bottom of the hill.

For some people, they might experience a bit of motion sickness from the speed. With the 350 degree camera, you will also be able to take in the rest of the scenery as she flies down the course.

There are also side view cameras so you can experience it from that angle as well as one that is strapped to her body which concentrates on her face.

With the face cam, you can see the joy on Mancuso’s face as she completes her and it looks exhilarating. On the pairs ice dancing you can get the point of view of either partner.
