The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys could be very true in Bermuda.

The 2013 Household Expenditure Survey shows that men spent nearly $320 more a month than women in the Entertainment and Recreation category.

A large percentage of that spending is on technology as iPads, PC tablets and other Internet-related applications like NETFLIX and Itunes has the guys splashing cash around.

The average man spends $248.59 a week on Entertainment and Recreation compared to the average woman who only shells out $169.50.

The survey also shows the decline of landline telephones. A decade ago 91 per cent of all homes had at least one whereas today just 73 per cent do.

The numbers are nearly reversed for cellphones as 88 per cent of the population have at least one cell whereas a decade ago just 73 per cent did.

BlackBerry continues to dominate the market share as 51 per cent of all phone users have at least one. There was an even split between iPhone and Android users with 20 per cent of the population having at least one.

Additionally, 33 per cent of people have a phone that is not a Blackberry, iPhone or Android.
