If you want to send you Twitter feed spinning, you should probably follow The Washington Post.
According to Social Media analytics firm Searchmetrics, The Post generated an average of 275,193 tweets per week — the vast majority of those by their Twitter followers.
To break that number down, that’s an average of 39,313 tweets per day; 1,638 tweets per hour; and 27 tweets per minute.
New York Times and USA Today were the second and third most popular US newspapers based on tweets.
Content from USA Today and the Washington Post was also found to dominate the list of the top ten most tweeted newspaper website stories during 2013 in the study by digital marketing software and services company, Searchmetrics.
Searchmetrics analyzed the number of tweets per week generated by content on ten leading US newspaper web sites.
The research reveals that the Washington Post drives an average 275,193 tweets per week followed by the NY Times with 261,422 tweets per week and USA Today (149,960 tweets per week).
