The Bermuda Gymnastics Association will send 19 athletes to the Manhattan Classic Invitational in New York City this weekend.

Assistant team coach Amanda Baughman said in a press release: “The Bermuda team will join hundreds of talented young athletes from around the US in this prestigious competition.

“It is our fourth trip to this invitational and we are sending a large team as we have found it a stellar competitive experience in the past.

“This is a vital competition for the gymnasts as they are trying to attain a qualification score for the USAIGC World Championship to be held in June.

“We have had gymnasts qualify to the Championships for many years and hope to send a strong team this time around.”

The team leaves today and will compete tomorrow. The BGA will be represented in the USAIGC Copper, Bronze and Silver levels and have one gymnast in the Level 9 USA Gymnastics session.

Full squad: Tabytha Hofheins; Anah Lightbourne, Kanzi Emery, Maya Malpas, Kinae Dowling, Holly Wakely, Jasmine Simons, Sasha Crumley, Logan Watson-Brown, Jezhari Talbot, Yve Smith, Brianna Ray, Sanaa Burgess, Daria Symonds, Annabelle Miller, Rhianna Evelyn, Kayode George, Laura Hupman, Mya Furbert-Jacobs.
