Bermudian writer and actress Liana Hall told the world how she was put on antidepressants at the age of just 14–years-old during her interview with the BBC earlier this week.
The Bermuda Sun has the link to the interview where Liana told reporters that she felt let down by the National Health Service in Britain who failed to diagnose her with bipolar 2 disorder. She later attempted suicide twice.
In the interview she said: “My GP just put me on to antidepressants no real discussion outside of that and two years later I attempted suicide for the first time. I was struggling with…. achievement and wondering where I was in my life and what was wrong and I had massive feelings of anxiety.
“That was the time that they finally sent me to see a psychologist. Later on at University it was the same thing — I waited two years on a waiting list to see anybody at all — another suicide attempt after that they still put me on another waiting list so I have definitely had my struggles with the NHS.”
