Video: Brazen thief steals bike from a garage in Smith's (Update)

A video of a thief stealing a Honda from inside a garage is making the rounds on Facebook and YouTube.

The video was posted on YouTube on January 15 but started to go viral on Friday afternoon as people on Facebook started passing it around.

The six plus minutes long clip shows a helmeted thief inside a garage checking out two bikes.

Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said: "Police are aware of this incident and active inquiries into this matter is on going." 

The thief has a small flashlight attached to a lanyard as he looks over both motorcycles.

He eventually pushes the Honda SH 125 out a side door of the garage.

The video, which was posted by Smith’s Parish, had more than 300 views on Friday afternoon.

It states the motorcycle was stolen on January 4 at 1am.

The poster wrote: “If you know this thief let the Bermuda Police know. He stole a White Honda SH 125 on January 4th at 1:00am. Help catch this thief. There are parts of the video that is seems as there is no activity. It just when the thief was not moving, continue to watch all the way to the end.”
