A British woman accused of attacking a woman at a New Year's party and leaving her with facial injuries appeared in court today.

Natalie Louis Simpson, 25, was today charged with unlawfully wounding Alexandra Wheatley on January 1 in Pembroke.

Ms Simpson was not required to enter a plea as the matter is indictable and must be heard in the Supreme Court.

She was granted $5,000 bail with one surety and was ordered to surrender her travel documents.

Ms Simpson must also report weekly to the Hamilton Police Station.

The matter will be mentioned in two weeks.

The incident happened at a party on the lower level of Pier Six in Hamilton.
