The Bradford Telegraph & Argus reported yesterday that star striker Wells will be in the final year of his contract if Bradford wait to deal him after the January transfer window the club will get less for him from another club.
The paper reports that the rumours are the Bantams are prepared to make Wells their highest-paid player to extend his contract - even for one more year, but he prefers on moving to a higher division club.
How high are Wells' ambitions? The Telegraph are Argus said he is looking to play at the very least in the Championship next season.
If City don't sell-off Wells now and keep him for one more season it will mean the club will probably have a smaller budget to work with in 2015-16, where $1.64 million could make a significant impact if he's sold now.
The Bantams have already rejected Peterborough's seven-figure bid last July and an unamed club's offer this week, which was more than that.
It is believed QPR, Huddersfield, Wolves, and Blackburn as well as two Premier League clubs have interest in Wells.
