Quintet Onyx Brass will be performing a programme of challenging chamber music inspired by the early years of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble as part of the Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts.
Onyx, which is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year, has commissioned and performed the world premieres of over 100 new works.
Among the composers whose work Onyx, pictured, has premièred are Stuart MacRae; Michael Nyman; Joe Duddell; John Tavener; and Judith Bingham.
They have toured extensively in the UK and perform regularly at festivals and concert halls in the US, Ireland, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany and Portugal.
While the programme is made up of serious chamber music, the group prides itself on remaining accessible to audiences.
Onyx Brass performs as part of the Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts at City Hall on Tuesday, February 25 at 8pm. Tickets are $65 for adults and $25 for students, available from bdatix.bm
