Friday’s torrential rainstorm was the proverbial “weather fit for a duck”.
In the past, there have been cries for Bermuda to get a water park but certainly not in this manner! The deluge has turned Bernard Park more into Bernard Pond with the water over a foot deep in spots as it extends for most of Dutton Avenue into North Village’s Bernard Park Field and into right field of the Michael Preece Softball Stadium.
While the road was closed off on Friday for motorists and will likely remain that way in the coming days as the water dissipates, a flock of ducks has taken to the newly created pond.
There were 10 ducks enjoying the comforts of their temporary home.
The waterlogged park also attracted residents to take the time to stop and snap photos.
