Product review: Astro charger is a hit

You’ll never be without power for your mobile devices again.

The Anker Astro Mini is a portable charger that can add nine hours of battery life to your phone.

The Bermuda Sun recently tested out the Astro Mini. It was able to provide a charge for the following devices: A Toshiba laptop, a Samsung Galaxy and an iPhone.

The Anker Astro Mini comes with a cord that was used to charge the Toshiba and Samsung and an Apple charging cord was used for the iPhone.

The Mini was easy to use. The Sun plugged it into a computer until it was fully charged (the yellow light will disappear).

It was then ready to charge other devices with the same cord. You have to push the button on the top of the charger until the light turns green.

There are several practical uses for this. If you’re out for the day and need the extra battery life, the charger, which is compact at 3.5 in x 0.9 in, is easy to carry with you.

In the past, while covering Cup Match, I preferred to sit in the stands with my laptop rather than in the press box and it would be handy to extend the battery life rather than running to find a socket to plug my computer into.

But, especially in Bermuda, it can be useful for those occasions when hurricanes decide to mess with our electricity.
