The Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) today introduces its mascot, Eddie the Elephant. Named after King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH), the elephant will be used to help educate the public on the departments moving to the new Acute Care Wing in September.

Eddie will visit schools and in the coming months you may even meet him on the street in special educational promotions.

An elephant was chosen as the hospital’s mascot because it is a symbol of strength, stability and long life. Elephants demonstrate a host of other attributes that make them ideal for health messaging.

BHB’s Public Relations Department listed ten advantages elephants possess that would aid various health promotions. Three are strength, stability and long life. If you can guess the remaining seven, send your response to our Public Relations Department for the chance to get your photo taken with Eddie.

Members of the public should email [email protected] with their answers and contact details by Friday 28 February 2014.
