A 23-year-old man today admitted punching a bus driver in an unprovoked attack.
Kenneth Leverock pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court this morning to assaulting Edmund Phillips on January 9 in Southampton.
When Leverock got on the bus in Hamilton his music was loud and Mr Phillips asked him to turn it down, which Leverock did.
When the bus got near Industrial Park Road in Southampton, the bell rang and Leverock walked down the aisle to get off the bus.
When the bus came to a stop, Leverock began punching Mr Phillips in the back of his head repeatedly. Leverock then left the scene and the matter was reported to police.
He was arrested at his Southampton home later that day.
During a police interview, Leverock denied the allegations.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner ordered presentencing reports and granted Leverock $5,000 bail.
He must agree to wear an electronic monitoring device and be confined to his home 24 hours a day.
