Food review: Attention to detail at Taste

Taste was an amazing surprise.

My friend, and lunch partner, had been lucky enough to win a lunch at Taste and neither of us had been there before. After a hesitant start regarding where to park, we were greeted by the manager, Nakie Wolffe, who went beyond the call of duty and helped solve our parking problem.

This set the stage for a lunch to remember.

The seating is inside, lounge chairs or upright, comfortable chairs or outside patio style. We chose inside and the menu matched the attention to detail of the seating with a great selection of sandwiches, wraps and entrees.

There were also daily specials and we opted for lamb burgers with salad and fries (just the right portion). They came with dressing on the side for the salad, and sauce for the lamb burger, so you could choose and did not have your food drenched before you got it.

Drinks were competitively priced and the service was very attentive, but not obtrusive. My cappucino was large and presented with a choice of home made cookies. The dessert choice is not large, but as most of the lunch customers were on lunch hours and meeting friends, most opted for coffee or tea.

I would highly recommend Taste for good service, attention to detail, comfortable seating — a very pleasant surprise.
