Pinky's tips: Take hair inspiration from awards season red carpet

The awards season is an annual time period between November and February every year. 

The season usually begins with the Gotham Awards in November and ends with the Academy Awards (including every award show in between) in March. This season saw some jaw dropping hairstyles on some very iconic individuals, the award show red carpet is where most folk get their black-tie hair inspiration from; and I cant say I blame them! Celebrities come out in full effect looking dapper to say the least, for a classy night of prestige filled with excitement. 

Sandra Bullock, Jessica Alba and Malin Akerman all remained timeless with a classic wave at the People’s Choice awards when it came to the hair. 

Nina Dobrev also donned a muddled-up do, keeping it timeless and classic — both looks can be applied for both smart casual and formal nights alike. The Golden Globe awards produced very sleek hair and side parted up dos/pulled back ponyies this year from the likes of Allison Williams, Drew Barrymore and Kaley Cuoco rocking the sleek waterfall look and Emma Roberts, Emma Watson and Zoe Saldan’s sleek ponies. 

Vintage hair seemed to have taken centre stage at the Screen Actors Guild awards. Juliette Lewis, Amy Adams and Jennifer Garner all wore classic 1920’s hair with a modern twist; a 1920’s style for red carpet events will never steer you wrong. And the Oscar goes to Evan Rachel Wood for her flapper-inspired finger-waved bob and Lupita Nyong’o retro shaved sides was dressed with a pretty hair band that matched her Cinderella-esque Prada dress.  The Grammy’s met and exceeds all expectations this year for hair. We saw Beyoncé, Ciara and Kelly Osbourne all sport bob of all kinds with Chrissy Teigen Sara
Bareilles and Colbie Caillat rock braids both in stylish ways. 

Beach waves managed to make their
appearance again with Lorde and Rita Ora showcasing the best of them. This year’s awards season has provided a platform for versatility, showing us that we can be formal and playful — conquering risks with hair to help spice thing up a little.
