Be a part of the Grand Slam of Golf
Sports fans once again have a rare opportunity to be part of the world-renowned, internationally-televised PGA Grand Slam of Golf at the Port Royal Golf Course.
Volunteer registration for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf is now open.
“Every year the Masters is our signal to kickoff the volunteer drive for the PGA Grand Slam,” said Andy Burrows, General Chairman of the Grand Slam. “When Bubba Watson put on that Green Jacket we knew it was time to pick up the pace for October.”
The PGA Grand Slam of Golf features the winners of the year’s four Major golf championships — The Masters in April (won by American Bubba Watson), the U.S. Open in June at Pinehurst, the Open Championship in July at Royal Liverpool and the PGA Championship in August at Valhalla Golf Club. It will take place October 13-15, 2014.
It requires an army of about 200 volunteers to put on the three-day event in a variety of categories and committees. Some of the roles put volunteers inside the ropes on the golf course, within arm’s reach of the action.
Volunteers may sign up online by visiting the PGA Grand Slam of Golf website at www.pgagrandslamofgolf.com.
All volunteers for the 2014 PGA Grand Slam of Golf will be required to pay a volunteer uniform fee of $55.
In return, each volunteer will receive a volunteer uniform (two golf shirts, shorts and headwear), a 32nd PGA Grand Slam of Golf Championship Journal, food and drink vouchers for working shifts, complimentary off-site parking with shuttle service to the Championship and a Volunteer Credential, which can be used each day of the Grand Slam even if the volunteer is not assigned to work.
Volunteer recruitment lasts for only a limited time. Those interested are encouraged to sign up immediately.
The 32nd PGA Grand Slam of Golf is hosted by the Bermuda Tourism Authority, Port Royal Golf Course and the Fairmont Southampton.
