Many primary schools received free kites ahead of Good Friday thanks to CellOne.
Schereene Outerbridge, CellOne marketing manager, said in a release: “A common challenge at this time of year is for families to find quality time to build kites. This is a conversation heard all too often which has a direct impact on whether or not kids across Bermuda will get to fly one at all.”
“This is a wonderful Bermudian tradition and we want to ensure as many families as possible can participate. Thanks to the Chewstick Foundation along with the other event sponsors, we’re all able to head down to Horseshoe Bay for a whole lot of festive fun in the sun!”
The wireless communications company started its mass donation of kites with primary schools across the island on Wednesday.
As the week goes on, you will have a chance to pick one up while attending the screenings of the Bermuda Docs Film Festival at BUEI starting Thursday evening. If venturing down to KiteFest empty handed, CellOne staff volunteers will be there to greet you with their signature ‘birdie’ kite.
