The town of St George will be hoping to welcome its first cruise ship of the 2014 season today.

But much will depend on the weather if the Seven Seas Navigator is to move up from Hamilton and sail through Town Cut.

A decision over whether the liner shifts port for the day was expected to be made this morning.

Weather

If high seas and strong winds prevail then the ship and her 450 passengers will remain alongside in the capital until the vessel leaves Bermuda bound for Charleston this afternoon.

The Seven Seas Navigator remains one of the few small liners that is able to squeeze through Town Cut into St George’s Harbour.

Also due into the East End today is the LPG tanker, Berceo.

The ship is due to dock at the Oil Docks off the north shore of the ‘olde towne’ at first light to deliver fuel for Esso, before leaving later the same day.

The Somers Isles leaves Hamilton today to head back to Florida, while the Islander is back in the capital tomorrow.

This Sunday the cruise ship Thomson Dream will make her first ever visit to Bermuda on route to the Azores.

The liner will come alongside in Dockyard on Sunday morning to allow her 1,500 passengers to disembark before the vessel leaves the next day.

And finally the Oleander is due into Hamilton in her usual Sunday afternoon arrival slot.
