After days of training and tough competition, the Bermuda Fed Cup Tennis Team will savour a chance for a little rest from competition at Palmas Tennis Club in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
However, understanding that there’s still work to be done, the rest day will not be all fun and games. Bermuda has re-kindled acquaintances with our fellow English speaking Caribbean colleagues Barbados, who to date have not had any success in their Pool A matches.
Bermuda and Barbados will take this opportunity to set up some competitive training. On Saturday the last day of the Event, Bermuda will compete against Panama in the Pools A-C playoff, while Barbados will play Uruguay in the Pools B-D playoff.
There has constructive talk about forging continued reciprocal arrangements between our Caribbean Nations in the effort of establishing much needed exposure in the region in order to boost the levels of our players.
The Bermuda Fed Cup team will return to the Island on Sunday evening via New York.
