The Bermuda Sun will host a car boot sale just in time for spring.
Organizer Michelle Furbert encourages the community to give their homes a spring cleaning and sell all those unwanted items.
The event will happen on April 12 at St John’s Church.
“We need to promote our Sunshopper site more and we thought this would be a good way to put our brand out there.
“We see that one of the Paget churches has one about every month and it looks successful, so we thought let’s try it and see how it goes.
“And what better time than spring when people are cleaning out their houses and storage any way.”
Furbert said she is trying to get 50 people signed up for the event.
Asked if there are any rules regarding items for sale, she said: “There are no real restrictions on items as long as it can fit comfortably in the vicinity of your car space and a few feet around it.
“We will also have a limited number of tables available. First come, first serve.”
Encouraging people to register, Furbert said: “I think it would be a good way to get rid of unwanted items.
“Apparently Bermuda has a pretty good house sale following, where people dedicate their weekends to attending house sales to find items that interest them, so why not bring everything all to one place.
“Save the customers from driving all over the island while giving the sellers a nice space to showcase their items.
“Also for those people who might get discouraged from going to house sales because they have their children, we will have a small kiddie corner with a fun castle and few arts and crafts to keep them occupied while parents shop.”
The car boot sale is $25 to register and part proceeds will go to St John’s Church. To register, click here.
