One of the new offerings at the spa is Bliss wax, which Helen described to me as almost pain free so of course I had to try it. I opted to have my eyebrows and lip waxed to see just how ‘pain free’ it was. My therapist, Natalie explained to me that the wax is virtually painless because it adheres to the hair and not the skin. She applied oil to the area and then put on the wax.
When she went to pull it up, there was a bit of a pinch but when she actually pulled the wax off, it felt exactly like a band-aid coming off. I was shocked at how easy and painless this wax was. Another thing that makes it different is that there were no strips.
The wax just dries and is quickly removed. There was no redness so you can have your lip or brows waxed and go straight back to work. I figured I should have my lip done to test out the painless method.
For those of you who have never had a lip wax, they hurt like hell. Natalie put the wax on and pulled it off without a flinch from me. Helen recommended I try to Elemis Enzyme Express facial and that’s just what I did. The facial is described as instantly resurfaces and smoothing the skin, targeting blemishes, uneven skin tone, superficial scarring, and fine lines.
Natalie worked her magic by cleansing my face, doing an enzyme peel, a fruit active mask, toning my skin and putting a maximum moisture cream.
She explained to be that the products are designed to work very deep in the skin, thus making my skin brighter, cleaner and smoother. At the end of the facial, my skin certainly had a glow to it. A week later, I’m still glowing.
Here are the products she recommended: Tri enzyme resurfacing wash $44, Apricot toner $33, Maximum moist day cream $58, Maximum moist night cream $67, Eye serum $67.50, Papaya enzyme peel $43 and Fruit active Mask $46. Natalie also recommended this facial for every four weeks.
