Nahki Wells was among the goals once again in Bradford City’s 4-0 demolition of Brentford at Valley Parade today.

The Bermudian and strike partner James Hanson formed a formidable front pairing for the Bantams, who continued their excellent League One home form.

Wells, who was this week named the League One Player of the Month, was involved in the pivotal moment of the game when he was brought down by a lunge from Bees keeper David Button, who was subsequently sent off with just 26 minutes on the clock.

The red card changed the complexion of the game and Hanson opened the scoring just before half-time. City, with their tails up, then enforced their man advantage after the break.

Wells collected his seventh goal of the season, tapping in after a terrible mix-up in the Brentford defence, before goals from Garry Thompson and Hanson, again, wrapped up the three points.

The former Dandy Town man was taken off after 71 minutes for Alan Connell still nursing a minor shoulder injury sustained in the clattering by Button — an incident that left Bantams boss Phil Parkinson clearly unimpressed after the game.

"I thought it was one of those tackles that can injure someone seriously,” he said.
