There’s a lot of worth in Middletown, so much so a ‘YES Day’ will be held this weekend.
The Bermuda Coalition, Imagine Bermuda, other organizations and individuals have come together to plan this for Saturday from 1pm to 6pm.
The Day will be a reunion for this neighbourhood, which has had its challenges, but has a rich heritage that offers something for today’s generations. This event will be a festival to restore connections, reunite families and offer some fun challenges and entertainment for young and old alike.
Organizer Judith Burgess told the Bermuda Sun that residents had some “concerns regarding the area... and one of the things they wanted to do was to build stronger relationships among people in the community.
“One of the suggestions was to have a block party, and so as a result of that .
“We have gotten a lot of help within the community - these are persons who live in Pembroke — and we also work along with the police who are hoping to be able to get a team here as well for the event.”
Activities include football, archery, skateboarding and history lectures.
