Three men appeared in Magistrates’ Court today facing sex assault charges.
A 32-year-old Warwick man denied kissing his 12-year-old step-daughter inappropriately in Warwick between September 2012 and May 2013.
The court heard that the man has been married to the girl's mother since 2011.
The Caribbean defendant was granted $10,000 bail and ordered to surrender his travel documents.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner also ordered he must not interfere with the victim in any way and must not have any contact with her parents, including his wife.
He will stand trial in January.
In a separate, unrelated, case a 32-year-old Warwick man was also charged with sex offences involving a young girl.
The defendant denied groping the 12-year-old girl and showing her a lewd photo in September in Paget.
Mr Warner adjourned the matter to October 17 and remanded the defendant into custody.
In a third unrelated case a 33-year-old man appeared in court facing seven counts of sex assault on a 14-year-old girl.
The Paget man allegedly touched the girl inappropriately on numerous occasions between September 2011 and September 2013.
The defendant was not required to enter pleas as the matters are indictable and must be heard in the Supreme Court.
The court heard the defendant had a relationship with the girl’s mother.
Mr Warner remanded the defendant into custody and adjourned the matter to October 17.
The defendants cannot be named for legal reasons.
