Movie star Alec Baldwin testified on Tuesday in the trial of his alleged stalker Genevieve Sabourin and things got really, really interesting.
Here’s the background: Sabourin, a French-Canadian actress, is charged with 23 counts of harassment and one charge of stalking Baldwin.
During testimony on Tuesday, Baldwin denied ever sleeping with her, prompting Sabourin to shriek out in the courtroom.
She repeatedly called Baldwin a liar while he was giving evidence and heckled his wife, Hilaria Thomas, who also testified.
On Wednesday, Sabourin was given 30 days in jail for being in contempt of court after she was repeatedly told to stop interrupting proceedings.
According to the NY Daily News, she was warned multiple times.
A flaw in Baldwin’s plan is that Scarface producer Martin Bregman who introduced Baldwin and Sabourin, claimed the actor is lying and that he did in fact have a relationship with Sabourin that allegedly overlapped with the relationship with his wife.
Sabourin maintains she was just looking for closure when Baldwin stopped talking to her.
So who is telling the truth? Yes, Sabourin might have a few screws loose, but honestly, she seems like a woman scorned who isn’t capable of controlling her outbursts.
But the key question is, did she harass and stalk Baldwin?
British singer Adele reportedly turned down a £12 million deal with makeup brand L’Oreal.
According to the Daily Mail, Adele was due to sign a deal to represent the brand in the UK, ousting Cheryl Cole as the brand ambassador. The 25-year-old Oscar/Grammy winner would have joined actresses Penelope Cruz and Jennifer Lopez as L’Oreal faces.
But it seems Adele got cold feet and changed her mind. L’Oreal is said to be stunned as to why Adele would turn down the money.
The interesting thing is that the 25-year-old has said in the past that she wouldn’t be a sell out.
“I don’t want my name anywhere near another brand. I don’t wanna be tainted or haunted. I think it’s shameful when you sell out”, she once said in an interview.
Personally, I wouldn’t have a problem with Adele signing on to be the face of a brand. Actually, I think it’s pretty awesome and doesn’t come close to selling out.
Adele is stunning and I would certainly buy whatever she’s selling.
