Teen duo deny robbing pensioner

Two teenagers appeared in court today charged with robbing an elderly woman.

Marcus Tucker, 19 and Kairi Tucker, 17, both denied robbing the 76-year-old woman of her purse on November 11 at Magistrate's Court this morning.

The court heard the woman was walking towards Pembroke Rest Home when she felt someone trying to grab her purse.

Crown counsel Susan Mulligan said she began to struggle with the man and he took her bag. The man then ran away with another young man.

Ms Mulligan told the court the purse contained $150 and other personal items.

After hearing bail arguments, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded both men into custody.

They will reappear on November 28.
