A 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman appeared in court today charged with burglary.

Rayshun Edwards and Eishanna Castle both denied entering a Morgan’s Road, Warwick home on November 4 and stealing a gold chain to the value of $1,000.

Mr Edwards was solely charged with assaulting a police officer on the same day in Sandy’s when that officer was acting in the execution of his duty. He pleaded not guilty to this charge as well.

After a bail hearing, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner granted Ms Castle $2,000, bail and she must wear an electronic monitoring device.

Mr Edwards was also granted $2,000 bail with one surety. He must also wear and electronic monitoring device and is confined to his home.

The defendant’s grandmother tearfully thanked Mr Warner for granting her grandson bail.

Both defendants will reappear in court on November 19.
