Three young footballers are off to Barbados to attend the Digicel Chelsea Football Academy.
A Digicel Bermuda spokesperson said Amar Lewis, Tyriko Williams and Te’Vahn Tyrell are a part of 39 young footballers chosen from 11 Digicel Caribbean countries to attend the week-long Academy, which promises to deliver a fantastic football experience.
The hand-picked group of “All-Stars” will be divided into three teams are expected to showcase their talent on and off of the field.
The spokesperson said: "While the boys have expressed that they have never been to Barbados, they are extremely excited and committed to giving their all and representing Bermuda well. Amar, who is the only one of the three to have experienced Caribbean football has advised his peers to expect a faster pace of play and suggested that they stick together, communicate with each other and work hard as Team Bermuda."
“We are pleased to bring such a rewarding opportunity to Amar, Tyriko and Te’Vahn,” said Wayne Caines, CEO of Digicel Bermuda. “We understand that the boys will learn a great deal over the next week and anticipate they will bring any new found skills back to our island’s football community.”
