Janson Cross is the owner of VIP Consulting and Promotions. He has hosted countless parties and events in Bermuda over the years including the popular Bad Girls Club party series, Mint Condition and hypnotist shows.
Cross is the beer manager for Bermuda Import & Export, representing some of the best beer brands in the world in Miller and Becks brands. He also runs the website BermudaNightOut.com, which showcases restaurants and highlights events in Bermuda.
Stepping outside the party realm, Cross is now involved in Organo Gold, an international coffee company known for their healthier coffees and teas. Cross’s vision with Organo Gold is showing people that you can create additional revenue streams without having to give up your job if you don’t want to.
On November 20, Cross will be hosting a free event for the public where they can learn more about Organo Gold. It will be held at the Bermuda Chamber of at 7pm. Cross has been married to Aisha for nine years and they are parents to Jace. Interview by Mikaela Ian Pearman.
What were you like in school?
Primary School – top of the class; High School - slacker.
Who is your hero/heroine?
My mom.
Which human trait do you dislike the most?
Dishonesty.
Human trait you value most in others?
Intelligence and perseverance.
Which film character would you be?
Keyser Soze (The Usual Suspects) — everyone thought he was the weak link in the crew and he was the one controlling the shots.
When did you last laugh out loud? And why?
At the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Show…..the female comedian was
hilarious.
Your greatest fear?
One of my greatest fears is speaking in public in front of a large crowd.
Most embarrassing moment?
In my 2nd year of high school, I wanted a s-curl. I asked my mom to hook me up and when she was finished instead of a s-curl my hair was permed.
Property aside, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve bought?
My car.
Your ultimate ambition?
My ultimate ambition is to organize a world tour with major recording artists where one of the stops can be in Bermuda.

Ambitious, loyal, caring.
Best party you’ve ever been to?
At a club called Hanover Grand in London where my friends and I were hanging with Eminem.
Anyone you’d like to say ‘sorry’ to?
Nope.
Worst job you’ve ever done?
On career day from high school, I was at an office and my job for the day was licking stamps and shredding documents.
Biggest disappointment?
I missed the opportunity to organize a comedy show with Kevin Hart in Bermuda when his fee was reasonable. I knew he was going to blow up.
Your desert island song?
La Isla Bonita – Yami Bolo.
What do you do if you can’t sleep?
Work on my business plans.
If you had a time machine, where would you go?
I would go somewhere in the future (30 years from now) to see what that would be like.
Best advice you have ever taken?
Never underestimating myself.
What do you most dislike about you appearance?
That my hair is thinning out which is why I keep it low.
What do you like best about your appearance?
My eyes.
What’s your attitude to money?
Financial freedom is the ultimate goal and money is the means.
Which cartoon character is most like you?
Underdog – underestimated and always done what needed to be done.
Nicest thing anyone has ever said to you?
My wife and son saying they love me.
Define romantic love.
Don’t know if I can define it…….its a feeling that you both share.

My family.
What keeps you up at night?
Exciting Ideas – my best ideas always come at night.

Watching old school cartoons and making my son watch them with me.

I would poop on the agent that claimed he represented Ceaser on Black Ink. Anyone that is fake.
Pet peeve?
People not doing what they say they will do.
If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?
Invest it – a million dollars just isn’t enough these days.
What would you most like to be remembered for?
I was a great husband and father and that I helped some people reach their dreams.
Most important lesson life has taught you?
Keep believing in yourself.
