With Thanksgiving on the doorstep and Christmas around the corner you might want to check out an exciting turkey preparation event with a twist taking place on Thursday evening.
Bermuda Gas is hosting the free community event in its live, showroom kitchens from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
The event will feature two local chefs, Bermudian Antonio Belvedere (also known as Chef Toto), and long-time resident, Jamaican chef, Charles Henry who will demonstrate how to cook a turkey two ways. Each chef will demonstrate his own take on the turkey dinner, giving guests plenty of time to try their favourite version, or even both versions, for their own Thanksgiving or Christmas table.
Each chef will prepare a turkey in advance so that guests can sample the options while watching and learning as Chefs Toto and Henry provide a cooking lesson.
“We are featuring two types of turkey; one will be more traditional, while the other we are playfully calling a “jerky turkey” as we’ve invited Chef Henry to demonstrate a Jamaican-style turkey, cooked on the barbecue in the Bermuda Gas outdoor kitchen,” said Bermuda Gas General Manager, Judith Uddin.
She added: “We are delighted to collaborate with BGA to showcase their Grace (a Jamaican brand specializing in spices, soups and beverages) and Durkee (synonymous with spices and seasonings) product lines, along with some new wines from local distributor, Pitt & Company.”
Guests will not only have a chance to learn from the chefs, they can also taste the foods and beverages on display and take samples and recipes home with them. Bermuda Gas will also have raffle door prizes for the occasion. The showroom is at 25 Serpentine Road, Hamilton.
