A 27-year-old woman appeared in court this morning charged with allegedly importing almost $8,000 worth of drugs.

Chesere Smith denied conspiring with others in Bermuda and elsewhere to import 12 grams of the controlled drug cannabis between a date unknown and March 10.

She also denied possession of the drug with intent to supply on March 10 in St George’s.

Ms Smith pleaded not guilty to conspiring with others in Bermuda and elsewhere to import 74 grams of the controlled drug cannabis resin and possession of the drug with intent to supply on the same date.

The matter was adjourned until June 28.

Ms Smith, represented by Saul Dismont, was given $10,000 bail with one surety.

She must report to the Hamilton Police Station every Monday.
