Press Release

The top 20 contestants for this year’s Bermuda Youth Got Talent were announced during a live telethon on ZBM.

The two-hour long event was held on Monday night and was hosted by Kelly Hunt, founder of BYGT and judges Nadanja Bailey and Patrina “Power Girl” O’Connor-Paynter.

Those who made the cut are Rhema Webb Hollis, The Simons Brothers, Ameina Lewis, Angelis Hunt, Connie Cambell, Mya Pratt, Shori-Lindsay Trott, Julia Frith, Tamara Jones, Faiz Shakir, Cameron Moulder, Chiante Roberts, Tyshae Virgil, Micah Correia, West Pembroke Cheerleaders, Quinn Outerbridge, Francesca Dill, Ci’re Bean, Precious Cooper and Chewslam.

Ms Hunt said: “Last night was a fun filled two hours that flew by with the comedic talents of Nadanja Bailey and Power Girl Trina.

“We were thrilled to present the top twenty contestants of Season two’s competition while raising awareness for the programmes offered through the Coalition, which is celebrating 20 years of service this year.

“The talent was revealed, the entertainment was undeniable and people’s reaction to the show has been phenomenal.

“I have already been asked for dates of next season, ideally, we would like it to run the Monday before May 24th annually.”

She continued: “Offering Bermuda's young people a platform to showcase their talents has been a true pleasure and we have had an international response.

“Almost 700 people trafficked the website last night and numerous others watched on television.

“The program has brought awareness to the Coalition for the important work they do, given our young people access to an international stage and uplifted the community.

“It's safe to say that we achieved our goal with last night's production and I can't wait to reveal our winners.”

Voting will continue until Sunday night at midnight and can be achieved via texting the first name of the performer or through the website, www.bygt.bm.

A $2.99 donation to CPC will be charged for each text while online voting is $5.

All funds will be donated to the Coalition.
