Inspiring moments / Spreading Random Acts of Kindness
Meditation
Ephesians 4:32 “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
One random act of kindness can touch a life and make a difference in a world filled with pain.
A smile given to someone that may seem so little can be so huge in bringing joy and brightness in the midst of despair and darkness.
A person taking time out of their busy schedule with a listening ear, to someone sharing their heart in a time of desperation can bring the impact to change a life that will change many more lives.
The great thing about spreading a random act of kindness is that it doesn’t have to cost a thing!
Yes, that’s right — it can be freely given.
Kindness doesn’t have to be a lot of money spent, but can be done in simple creative ways.
Can simple random acts of kindness really make a difference?
Can the actions often brushed away as “Oh, that’s just me” be the very thing that encourages someone else to make the right choice?
Encouragement
We all need encouragement from time to time. The gift of encouragement is a special gift indeed.
The ways that it can happen can be as simple as someone sending an e-mail to a discouraged friend, a telephone call to a lonely person, or a text message to someone who is feeling down.
Ask them how they are doing or if there is any way that you can help?
Encouraging another builds them up. How are you building up? How can you encourage someone today?
Hebrews 3:13 “But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
Give hugs
You may not have the words to say at that time, but a warm friendly hug can bring the comfort that is needed.
People go around feeling that they are unloved when really they are.
A touch of comfort can be the action that reminds them that they are loved and that somebody cares.
Send a gift
I think sending a gift anonymously makes it even more special.
Sometimes a person really doesn’t want the spotlight on their act of kindness, but does want a particular person to know that there is someone out there that notices them and who does care.
Anonymous gift giving avoids all focus of what you are doing to put focus on who it is going to.
The list goes on and on of the ways we can spread random acts of kindness.
We can never show too much kindness to another.
A wildfire of love that spreads and affects the next person is what we need now more than ever. It starts with you and me! Let’s spread kindness.
Prayer
Dear God, there are many opportunities that come my way to spread your love.
Open my eyes to the ways that I can encourage and give to another.
Thank you Lord for your never failing kindness and love towards me.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
